| New In Duplo Sofas from Erik Jørgensen have that Mid Century Twist! |
Anne-Mette Jensen and Morten Ernst have designed the In Duplo sofa series for the Danish furniture manufacturer Erik Jørgensen. In Duplo is a series that consist of two sofas in kinship (In Duplo High & Low) that are designed with a common theme. Each sofa consists of a wing shaped corpus that holds a composition of cushions. Like in a stone circle where each element is modified and finds its natural bearing. In Duplo comes across as a semiotic sign and with a strong graphic and organic expression that lead the thoughts back to the new modernism in Danish Furniture Design in the early 1950’s.
In Duplo High and Low both have a dynamic gable expression and calm straight facades. The legs, made of powder coated aluminium, look like limber bridges under the organic body. In Duplo addresses the contract market as well as private homes: as waiting room furniture in halls and lounges or as a sofa at the office or at home. The diverse characters of In Duplo contribute to various furnishing. A rocking footstool and a series of small coffee tables (Insula) are In Duplo accessories.
