CHAPLINS DESIGN MUSEUM

Inaugurated in 2007 by Simon Chaplin in conjunction with the London Design Festival, the CHAPLINS Design Museum is dedicated to showcasing iconic design pieces from the twentieth century. In doing to we hope to create a dialogue between the past and the present, the experimental and the innovative, in an environment sensitive to the development and evolution of modern living.

Central to our mission is the encouragement of an ever-deeper understanding and enjoyment of modern and contemporary design by the diverse local, national, and international audiences that CHAPLINS serves. Whilst being accessible to an audience ranging from design connoisseurs to young children, quality of design remains the primary concern and driving force behind future acquisitions and exhibitions in the museum and throughout the showrooms.

CHAPLINS acknowledges, in the works of over eighty designers, the broader educational purpose of understanding the history of contemporary design. More than simply housing an assemblage of iconic design, the CHAPLINS Design Museum is a unique and comprehensive study of the progression of the modern movement across design media.
