In celebration of the Ant™ chair’s 60th Anniversary, Fritz Hansen has donated 25 Ant chairs to Jamie Oliver’s Fifteen Foundation which celebrates its 10th Anniversary in 2012.
Decorated by some of the top names in fashion, art and design such as Paul Smith, Christopher Bailey for Burberry, Tracey Emin, and Quentin Blake, the Ant chairs will be auctioned to raise money for Jamie Oliver’s Better Food Foundation charity which receives all profits from Fifteen to empower young people by training them for careers in the restaurant industry.
The collection of decorated Ant chairs was revealed at the Republic of Fritz Hansen Store in London on the 20th August and will be exhibited during London Design Festival before being auctioned in October. The auction will also include a customized Egg chair and Footstool by Jamie Oliver.
In addition to the celebration of the Ant chair’s 60th Anniversary, Fritz Hansen will introduce for the first time the Ant chair in dark stained Oak with dark stained edging. Only previous available with a natural Beech wood finish, the dark stained Oak edging offers a more complete finish. The Ant in dark stained Oak with dark stained edging will be available from October 2012.
