About Montis
Montis was founded in 1974, and since 1975 the company has been located in Dongen in the now world-famous “black building”. Dongen was deliberately chosen because all the major tanneries and leather workshops were to be found in the area, which goes by the name of ‘Langstraat’.

The designers working for Montis inlcude Niels Bendtsen, Arnold Mercx, Marie Christine Dorner and Gert Batenburg. Since 2004 the design process has been steered by Paul van den Berg and there have also been designs by Dick Spierenburg and Karel Boonzaaijer. Since 2006 Montis has also collaborated with Studio Job, Alain Berteau and Demakersvan.
