Continuous and constant development marks the 25-year history of Foscarini. A focus on the product and on the culture of design has always guided its choices. Partnerships with international designers, both famous brands and young talent, combined with the freedom and flexibility to identify the most suitable means, materials and technology to produce each design has thrust Foscarini on to the designer lighting scene as a dynamic, active and, creative company.
Over its lifetime, Foscarini has twice garnered The ADI Golden Compass award. The first was for Mite and Tite (designed by Marc Sadler). This collection was a symbolic turning point for a method of working with designers based on a dialogue between research, innovation and design. In 2008 Foscarini was again nominated for the ADI Golden Compass with the Twiggy lamp (designed by Marc Sadler).
Emotion is the raw material of every Foscarini project; it describes the will and desire to create a new model that the market did not expect, but discovers, each time, that it wants. These are only some of the elements that have led to the success of Foscarini, a company that in twenty-five years has underlined its own, immediately recognisable style with personality and character.
Foscarini has always worked on the theme of customising a space through the interaction of the designer and the product, demonstrating that a mass-produced product can be endlessly re configured and recombined to achieve new forms and compositions. Foscarini looks to the international design world, to show them new ways of interpreting their collections, eclecticly adapting them into dramatic site-specific lighting backdrops with a strong emotional impact.
