Bonaldo Furniture Expresses Design and Emotion for the Contemporary Home

The Company
Bonaldo’s history began more than seventy years ago. In 1936 Giovanni Vittorio Bonaldo started his artisan processing of metals for the furniture field: nowadays the company is considered one of the most modern and brilliant enterprises of the Italian North-East.

Bonaldo’s furniture collections cover almost every category in the furniture field: tables, coffee tables, chairs, armchairs, sofas, sofa-beds, beds, accessories are produced in four plants that span an overall area of 100,000 square meters, 35,000 of which covered.

Metal, aluminum die-casting, cold molded flexible polyurethane, polypropylene, polycarbonate, glass and wood… Bonaldo uses all these materials making the most of their aesthetical and technical characteristics. In order to be always update, Bonaldo invests a lot in product and process technologies and chooses high-skilled and experienced collaborators, specialized in development and research.

Thanks to these new technologies Bonaldo can meet all market requirements and, working with renowned designers, is able to develop projects that combine functionality and aesthetic content.

Bonaldo’s mission
Bonaldo’s mission can be summed up in two words: emotion and soul. A table, a chair, a sofa or a piece of furniture should not only be strong, functional or comfortable, it should arouse emotions at first sight.

Bonaldo offers a functional and designer-made product that is the result of an accurate process of study, research and investment.

Materials, workmanship and design: all these elements help create a product that appeals to the modern, dynamic and international public that Bonaldo targets.

The design concept
Design plays an important role in Bonaldo’s strategies: it is always “design à porter”, because practical functions and aesthetics are equally important in every project.

Design as the language of modernity – to be interpreted with originality and a light touch, as well as expressive and functional intensity, always able to give the product its own identity.

Twenty-five Italian and international designers contribute to interpreting the company’s eclectic spirit. Collaboration projects with renowned designers, such as Denis Santachiara, Toshiyuki Kita, Ron Arad, Donato D’Urbino and Paolo Lomazzi, Mario Mazzer, Mauro Lipparini, Giuseppe Viganò, Bartoli Design and Karim Rashid have helped diversify Bonaldo’s collection. But Bonaldo also gives a great deal of space to young designers like Alain Gilles, Luca Nichetto, Ilaria Marelli and Gino Carollo, the names behind some of the 2009 innovations.
